COVID Vs. Flu: Doctor Summarizes Differences Between Them
October 21, 2020

ABC 15 recently interviewed Dr. Baruch Fertel in this recent post titled:
Doctor Explains the Small Difference in Symptoms Between COVID-19 and the Flu, in which you can read the full story there. He told ABC 15 that the differences between COVID and the flu are minimal in their differences. COVID and the flu are similar in some symptoms such as muscle and body aches, coughing, gastrointestinal issues (diarrhea), and headaches are the symptoms they have in common.
What separates the flu from COVID is the loss of taste and smell. It's something that he and his colleagues have never seen with the flu, Furtel said. He stresses that the flu's isolation period is shorter than COVID, and he advises that people get the flu shot even if they hadn't in the past. People should continue to do what they're doing and wash their hands and keep a reasonable distance from each other, but getting your flu shot will make it easier to deal with the current flu season.
